Blogging Challenges You’ll Face In 2018
Blogging challenges never go away, but once you identify them, you can overcome.
I’ve been blogging since 2009, so believe me when I say that I understand the struggle. Things have changed drastically since I started blogging. Not just the amount of blogs that exist, but the rules and regulations that follow online content whether it’s by bloggers, publishers or others.
It can be overwhelming, it can be scary. But it doesn’t have to be.
I want you to know that you can make it through these blogging
The first items on the list are the blogging challenges we know. Ones I’ve seen and you’ve probably already seen
1. The Battle Against Time
This seems to be a problem for me and every blogger I’ve ever met. There just isn’t enough time to blog. You’ve got your own life to live outside of your blog (otherwise how much can you really share with your readers if you’re stuck behind your computer screen all day).
No matter what stage you’re at in your blogging career, know that time is the one thing that will always escape you. You need more time to research, to write the damn post. To promote the post. To do this or that. There’s always more to do, but never more hours in a day.
2. Impostor Syndrome
If you’ve ever felt like you were a fraud, or like you just get lucky sometimes rather than getting the credit you deserve for the hard work you’ve put in, you might just have impostor syndrome.
With so many blogs out there and such tough

3. Becoming Overwhelmed
Many bloggers when they start out think it’s going to be pretty simple. You head over to WordPress.com or Blogger.com and start a blog. You start writing and that’s it. Okay, maybe you didn’t think it was that simple. But many bloggers don’t realize all that goes into a successful blog. It isn’t just about content, it’s not about how many posts you can crank out, it’s also about branding, marketing, promotion and building your email list.
My predictions for 2018 blogging challenges
Again, take these with a grain of salt. They are simply my opinions based on what I know and have seen recently. If I’m wrong, well, I’m wrong… It’s happened before.
1. Guest Post Overload
Brands and companies are looking for content syndication more than ever, and unlike bloggers, they have the resources to pay for it, not that they want to. I think in 2018 we’ll see more and more offers to bloggers for guests posts from brands and companies. (If this does come to be, my suggestion is to charge them.)
2. The Next Level
I think in 2018 we’re going to see a lot of bloggers stepping up when it comes to media and content that they’re sharing. Investing time and money into really captivating and engaging audio, video and text.
3. Working Together
The last thing I think will happen this year is bloggers coming together more than ever. It’s no secret that the blogging community is one of camraderie and encouragement. Visit any blogging Facebook group and you’ll see what I mean. (Sure there are a few party poopers out there, but you’ll never really get away from that.)
Now that bloggers aren’t just competing against themselves, but really every brand, company and organization, the competition just got that much worse. Not to mention, as I said above, bloggers don’t have the resources companies do, so it’s an uphill battle.
That’s why I think that partnerships and collaboration will begin to increase this year, and a big reason why Boss Bloggers is here.
